Embedding Circular Economy Principles within °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï
A student within the School of Natural and Built Environment undertook a living lab project as part of their undergraduate studies. They assessed an existing Queen’s building as part of a ‘material bank’, enabling them to identify opportunities for circular economy principles and reuse.
From this project °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï Estates Directorate have taken learnings that will allow the University to reduce embodied carbon where a building can’t be retained. This enables materials high in carbon to be preserved for the next project.
