Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, visited °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï for the first time on 25 October to engage with a Politics class.

The class, led by Dr Jamie Pow, engaged the Mayor in a Q&A session as part of their module focussing on the politics of the Republic of Ireland. John is the first democratically elected Mayor in Ireland, having won the election in Limerick against several other candidates.

John spoke about establishing this role, and his ongoing work within the Limerick Council. The discussion was fruitful for the students, as it gave them a better understanding of elected roles as well as new democratic systems.
