Emergency Information

In the event of an emergency, all students, staff, and visitors should familiarise themselves with the emergency exit routes from the buildings and rooms they are using. These are clearly displayed within teaching spaces and should be highlighted by staff at the start of your module or session.

While we are here, a quick but important reminder: the University operates a No Smoking policy in all buildings, and food and drink must not be brought into lecture theatres or teaching areas. Water, thankfully, remains the sensible exception.

Emergency Number
2222
Calls to 2222 are given priority status through the University switchboard, who will then contact the appropriate Emergency Service without delay.

If an incident occurs requiring the Emergency Services

Occupants of University buildings should immediately report the incident and seek assistance by telephoning Extension 2222.

Tell them
Which Emergency Service you require, for example: Fire, Ambulance, or Police.
Explain
The nature of the emergency, such as fire, injury, or another serious incident, and if possible how severe it is.
Give
Your name, extension number, and the exact address or location where the Emergency Service is required.
