NI-Blockchain Summit Highlights Northern Ireland’s Growing Role in Web3 Innovation
The 2nd NI-Blockchain Summit brought together more than 100 builders, researchers, founders, investors, and students to °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï to explore the future of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and sustainable digital infrastructure.
With over 30 partner organisations, 10 expert talks, and four panel discussions, the Summit provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and community building across Northern Ireland’s emerging Web3 ecosystem.
The event was supported by Queen’s University Belfast School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT); the Centre for Sustainable and Intelligent Computing; and
Throughout the day, discussions examined the realities of AI adoption, governance challenges, and the role of emerging technologies in building secure, sustainable digital systems. Speakers emphasised the importance of aligning research excellence, skills development, and industry engagement to unlock the full potential of blockchain and AI.
NI-Blockchain is designed as a lasting, chain-neutral infrastructure for innovation - connecting academia, industry, and entrepreneurs while bridging research with real-world opportunity. Its mission is to support the next generation of founders and engineers and integrate Northern Ireland’s talent into the wider all-island and global Web3 ecosystem.
The strong turnout demonstrates the growing momentum behind blockchain innovation in Northern Ireland and reinforces the region’s position as a hub for collaboration in emerging digital technologies.
